Founded by John White, Jonathan Gold and Peter Hiscocks, Rivers Capital Partners is an independent venture capital management company. All have built and managed their own businesses and provide an entrepreneurs approach to venture capital. Rivers Capital Partners specialises in early stage investments for new, start-up and growing companies, working to introduce investors to business and manage funds.
The company’s main activity revolves around the investment of the £7.5m Finance For Business North East Angel Fund. Rivers have managed the Fund since January 2010 and in the past four years have completed 90 investments into 44 businesses. To date, £6.6m has been invested and a further £3.4m of additional capital has been brought into the deals.

Jonathan Gold - Jonathan is a venture capitalist and a founder of several venture capital businesses. He also set up FinanceTree, an investment readiness and corporate finance business through a management buyout in April 2008 from NStar.
Prior to coming to the region he created the Rainbow Seed Fund with a consortium of research establishments following 10 years in AEA Technology plc where he worked on technology licencing and sales primarily in Japanese technology markets.
Jonathan has created several other businesses and served in central Government where he managed several projects including the creation of the “University Challenge” venture capital Funds with over £56m of finance starting more than 15 seed capital funds.
