Could the secret to enhancing the Tees Valley employability agenda lie in the art of reading? Understanding vocabulary may have slipped off the agenda for most adults the day they left the classroom, but today’s business community has the power to transform that picture and make the North East an area of envy in the commercial world.
Tees Valley’s adult workforce is in need of a transformational helping hand to help upskill and forge ahead, so is the artform of literacy the key all business leaders need most? Explore the power of reading and vocabulary development with Lexonik and the power developing literacy could have on developing our local workforce.
Chris Beck will provide an overview on developments from Tees Valley Combined Authority with a focus on skills and business overlap.
There are limited places for this event so early booking is recommended.

Sarah Ledger, Director - Lexonik
Sarah Ledger is a Director at Lexonik and has previously held roles of Deputy Head Teacher for Teaching, Learning and Assessment, Assistant Head Teacher, Head of English.
Sarah brings over 20 years of curriculum, teacher training, leadership development and classroom experience to Lexonik. Sarah is passionate in empowering and inspiring teachers and learning facilitators to maximise their performance in order to allow students to exceed their potential.
Chris Beck, Director of Business & Skills - Tees Valley Combined Authority
Chris leads on business and skills for the Tees Valley Combined Authority and was formerly the strategic funding manager for TWI, The Welding Institute. There he led on government engagement and the management of funding for large projects. He has represented TWI on the UK’s Metals Council. He was previously technical specialist for the government within BEIS and UKTI, working on advanced technology and research focused inward investment.
