Startup Awards North East (previously If We Can You Can Challenge) will be brought to you in 3 high impact, virtual awards that will give you the opportunity to learn, connect and celebrate early stage founders at 3 stages of their startup journey.

WHY ARE WE DOING THIS?

The North East still has one of the lowest business startup rates in the country, this is matched with the highest youth unemployment rates and some of the most under-resourced communities in the UK.

Whilst this paints a negative picture, we also have some of the fastest growing sectors in the UK, unrivalled business support programmes from enterprise agencies and universities and an incredible community (you!) of folk that just want to help and give back to people at the beginning of their journey.

Now more than ever we need to connect and celebrate the region's "employers of the future" so that jobs and new streams of economy are created for the region.

WHAT TO EXPECT

The Awards will share with the world our region's finest new business creations. As well as this, each ticket holder will receive an engaging and fun experience, but most importantly, something to look forward to for Summer 2021.

Each event will include:

• Business pitches and Q&A sessions.
• Interactive, meaningful and enjoyable networking opportunities.
• An opportunity at each award for an early stage founder to be crowned 'Social Impact' and 'Growth Potential' winners as voted by you!

CONNECT: with business professionals from the startup ecosystem including all 5 regional universities, colleges, enterprise agencies, local authorities and community initiatives.
