Ten Teesside charities can win up to £5,000 thanks to The Teesside Charity’s new Pitching for Purpose live event this September.
Small Teesside registered charities, CIO’s, CIC’s, or not-for-profits with a constitution, set up between 2020 and 2023 have the opportunity to receive transformative funds from one single five minute pitch to an audience of fellow Teessiders.
Pitching for Purpose is a new live event for charities willing to pitch their purpose for a chance at £5,000.
The Teesside Charity are giving small charities the chance to pitch and share their story, to not only raise awareness of their cause but also win much-needed funds.
Whether you’re a charity supporting digital inclusion or training to help people get into work, setting up initiatives to help with clothes for interviews or raising aspirations in children; the list is endless. If this is you, The Teesside Charity want to hear your pitch.
Pitching for Purpose is open to projects and schemes in areas that fall within a postcode preceded by “TS”. Check your eligibility to apply by viewing their grant policy here -teessidecharity.org.uk/funds/awarding-of-grants/.
Applications are currently open and will close Friday 11 August. Once applications have closed a panel of the charity’s Infant Hercules Charity Club members will whittle down the entries to select ten causes from across the region, each receiving the chance to pitch their purpose to a live audience.

Lee Bramley, chair of trustees at The Teesside Charity, said: “The event aims to shine a spotlight on new charities within the area that not only need funds but a chance to get their foot in the door to raise awareness and make their name known.
“This event is the first of its kind at The Teesside Charity and we urge people to join us for a night of giving and making positive impact, your vote can help change the community.”
The event will be held at Flok, Middlesbrough on Tuesday 5 September from 6pm – 8pm. Tickets to attend the event as an audience member are available to purchase here - teessidecharity.org.uk/events/pitching-for-purpose/
The Teesside Charity’s key function is to financially support community groups and charities based within Teesside that promote social wellbeing, and provide support to those who find themselves at a disadvantage in the society they live in. These include but are not exclusively the homeless, those recovering from an addiction, the long-term unemployed, those living in poverty or living with a disability and employment schemes.
