Accountancy firm appoints tax technician with drive and ambition

Tax technician and keen golfer Brittany Hill, 25, from Hartlepool is on course to further her career since joining Teesside chartered accountancy practice Baines Jewitt.

Since graduating from York St John University with a degree in Accounting and Business Management four years ago, Brittany has gained an Association of Taxation Technician (ATT) qualification, as well as a wealth of practical experience.

Despite only recently starting with Baines Jewitt, Brittany has become a valuable member of the tax department. As testament to her drive, ambition and Baines Jewitt’s commitment to foster her career progression, Brittany has already signed up for a three year professional development programme to become a Chartered Tax Adviser with the Chartered Institution of Taxation (CIOT).

When not studying or getting into the swing of her new job role, Brittany enjoys perfecting her golf skills. Not only has she represented County Durham Golf Club, playing for the ladies team, she was appointed Lady Captain of Hartlepool Golf Club in 2018.

Talking of her new job at Baines Jewitt, Brittany said: “It’s great to join a well-established Teesside firm, which has up-to-the-minute work practices, yet believes in traditional customer service values. In particular, I’m enjoying being part of a team that provides tax expertise to help local people and local business.”

On welcoming Brittany to Baines Jewitt, Trevor Cook, director, said: “Our clients choose us because we have a good reputation and take a client-focussed approach. This means we tailor our help accordingly, whether it’s offering financial advice to private individuals and families; helping business start-ups get off the ground, providing ongoing support to small and medium enterprises to enable them to fulfil their potential, or offering specialist tax or legal advice to large corporate companies.

“Brittany understands the breadth of the support that we provide and our unique approach. She will no doubt prove to be a valuable member of our team over the years ahead, thanks to her professional attitude and great work ethic.”
