An evening with The Prince´s Trust

Members and guests joined at Wynyard Hall to hear about how The Prince’s Trust is helping 11 to 30 year-olds transform their lives. The Prince’s Trust welcomed enterprise businesses Ryan Wickes and Hannah Thomas to the event to showcase their businesses, as well as young ambassadors Imran Ali, Eryn Wood, Katie Barron and Danwen Huang.

Chair of the business club Jane Reynolds, welcomed senior head of partnerships Simon Campbell, NE Head of Operations Rachel Ronchetti, Volunteer Dai Hayward, Redcar and Cleveland College Principle Jason Faulkner and young ambassador Imran Ali to the panel to discuss their roles within The Prince’s Trust.

Young ambassador, Imran Ali, began the evening by talking about his experience with The Prince’s Trust. Imran spoke about his work placements organised by the Trust and how they have supported him over the past few years.

The Trust supports young people through various programmes, from re-engaging with education, STEM programmes, work placements, sector-specific skills development and self-employment programmes for young entrepreneurs.

Simon Campbell, senior head of partnerships spoke next on the panel, he explained there’s “no wrong door at The Prince’s Trust”. Simon went on to explain how the Trust began and how many people have been supported.

Since 1976, The Prince’s Trust have helped over 900,000 young people and their new strategy will help another 1 million young people in the next 10 years. The Prince’s Trust employ 1,260 staff and have 9,000 volunteers who work with young people and help raise funds.

NE Head of Operations Rachel Ronchetti, asked the club’s members to provide opportunities and support for young people, whether that be volunteering, providing opportunities or help with funding.

Volunteer, Dai Hayward has been a volunteer at The Prince’s Trust for 15 years and encouraged members to get involved in any way they can to help support the young people in the area.

Redcar and Cleveland College Principle Jason Faulkner, spoke about how the college has worked with The Prince’s Trust for 23 years, with various programs that have supported work experience and programmes delivered to NEETs.
