South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is offering local organisations the chance to host FREE NHS Health Checks for their workforce until April 2015.

The NHS Health Check is a national screening programme aimed at identifying & reducing an individual’s risk of developing cardiovascular illnesses in the next 10 years (this includes heart disease, stroke, diabetes and kidney disease).

We send our team of NHS nurses out on to site to conduct the checks in a confidential environment and all we require is approximately 15 people (this can include family, friends & other businesses if need be) who have no history of cardiovascular illness and do not currently take medication for high blood pressure or cholesterol.

The two checks that we offer are as follows;

§  Must be aged 40- 74           

(During a Healthy Heart Check each person receives BP & Pulse check, Cholesterol check, BMI calculation, Lifestyle advice, GP referral (where appropriate) & Personal Report containing results to go away with on the day)

§  Must be aged 25 - 39

(During the Mini-Health Check each patient receives: BP & Pulse check, BMI calculation, Diabetes risk assessment, Lifestyle advice, GP referral & Personal Report containing results to go away with on the day)
