Water and wastewater treatment provider, Biochemica UK Ltd has gained membership to the Chemical Business Association (CBA) – the voice of the UK chemical supply chain.
The Teesside headquartered water management company, which supplies specialist water and wastewater treatment chemicals coupled with technical services to its nationwide client base, now holds Distributor Membership to the CBA following a formal application process.
The primary role of the CBA is to safeguard the interests of the industry and represent its members – which comprise of chemical distributors, traders, manufacturers and blenders as well as logistics and service providers.
As a member to the organisation, Biochemica will benefit from the CBA’s representation in the likes of Whitehall, Westminster and Brussels, and its close relationships with regulators and legislators. One of the key advantages for Biochemica is the regular pertinent information, seminars and workshops provided by the CBA with regards to the chemical industry, meaning the company and its employees can maintain up to date knowledge, skills and a strong business offering.
Biochemica will also participate in the CBA’s Responsible Care initiative – the chemical industry’s commitment to continual improvement in health, safety and environmental performance, which mirrors Biochemica’s top priorities.
Managing Director at Biochemica, Dave Ruddy said: “Biochemica was required to have its membership proposed and seconded by current full members of the CBA, followed by official approval by the CBA Council, which demonstrates our solid reputation within the industry.
“Membership to the CBA will provide Biochemica and our employees with additional resources to stay abreast of changes within the UK chemical industry, much to the benefit of our clients as we will remain at the forefront of new developments.”
Last month (April) saw the CBA’s Annual Lunch event take place at the prestigious Grosvenor House Hotel in Park Lane. Known to those in the chemical industry as ‘Floggers,’ and open to CBA members and their guests, Biochemica hosted a table at the eagerly anticipated event for the first time.
Dave added: “We were delighted to have our own table at Floggers having attended the lunch on several occasions as guests.
“Over 1,000 other CBA members and their guests were present so it was a fantastic networking opportunity and we had the chance to meet with former colleagues from all corners of the sector.
It’s safe to say that the event was thoroughly enjoyed by all and now that Biochemica is a CBA member, we are already looking forward to next year.”
