New FW Capital team to spearhead investment of Tees Valley Catalyst Fund

We recently appointed a new team to spearhead our investment operations in the Tees Valley.

Launched by Tees Valley Unlimited (TVU) at the end of June 2013, the £10 million Catalyst Fund provides Tees Valley businesses with short-term finance to fund performance and warranty bonds and aims to help them unlock additional contracts valued at £700 million over the next ten years.

Investment executives Nicky Atkinson and Chris Johnson have joined FW Capital to make investments from the government-backed fund.

A UK first, the Tees Valley Catalyst Fund aims to help ambitious Tees Valley businesses bid for new contracts with the backing of short-term loans to fund advanced payment guarantees, performance and warranty bonds, as well as to extend existing bond facilities.

Although a generalist fund, we are particularly interested in businesses in the manufacturing, renewables, offshore and oil and gas sectors and have received some good enquiries to date which the team are working on. We are actively seeking more opportunities for the fund and would be happy to talk to you about any proposals you may have.
