Den Hartogh Logistics makes major investment in northern port

As a large employer in the region and at the forefront of portal trade expansion strategies, Den Hartogh Logistics has made a major investment to add to its presence in the North East with the acquisition of mixed industrial logistics and office complex The Minories.

Located at South Killinghome on the North Lincolnshire boundary, The Minories is close to Immingham Docks, the UK’s leading deep water port complex serving the North of the country, handling over 65 million tons of cargo annually.

Gary Piper, Den Hartogh Logistics’s UK & Ireland general manager said: “This is a tremendously exciting acquisition for us. The Minories site gives us a superb opportunity to further develop our presence in the North, to contribute to the success of the Freeport, and to encourage further investment and jobs within the region.”

The investment in the area builds on the recently announced plans to grant Freeport zone status for Immingham and the Humber, projected to create 7,000 jobs, and making the region a global gateway.

Den Hartogh Logistics was assisted in this key acquisition by the corporate and commercial team at Teesside law firm The Endeavour Partnership. Den Hartogh Logistics is a worldwide logistics service provider. Established in The Netherlands in 1920, it provides bulk logistics services for the chemical, gas, polymer and food industry. A global concern with premises/offices in 47 locations within 26 countries, a workforce in excess of 1,800 people and assets including 20,000 tank containers, 6,100 dry bulk containers and specialised dry bulk trailers, 350 tank trailers and 625 trucks.
