Double boost for Evolution as it prepares for further expansion

October 9th 2013

TEES Valley accountancy practice Evolution LLP has appointed a new director to head up its tax department as the flourishing firm prepares to expand its reach into new areas.

The professional services firm has bolstered its team with the addition of tax director Tim Mallon, who joins Evolution from Tyneside-based firm Ryecroft Glenton.

Mr Mallon, who is a member of the ICAEW Tax Faculty, has a wealth of experience in tax planning and regularly lectures on tax to clients and peers.

After qualifying as a chartered accountant in 1987 in London, he returned to his native North East in 1989 and has since been providing tax planning and wealth management advice to businesses, their owners and high net worth individuals.

He joins Evolution at a time when the firm is gearing up to expand beyond its core Tees Valley market following three years of growth since its inception in 2010.

Meanwhile, the firm’s tax department has also been boosted by the news that trainee accountant Francesca Crossling has become one of very few qualified chartered tax advisers (CTAs) in the region.

Managing partner Martin Barber said: “Tim Mallon has an extremely strong track record in advising clients on wealth management and tax planning and his addition to the team will greatly enhance our offering. We’re also very proud of Francesca’s achievements and she will continue to be a major asset to us as her career develops with Evolution.”

Mr Mallon said: “I’m joining Evolution at an incredibly exciting time for the business as it continues to develop and grow and I am really looking forward to working with the firm’s new and existing clients.”

Ms Crossling, who has been with Evolution for seven years, said: “I am very much looking forward to developing my range of skills and putting the skills learnt through the CTA training into my work and broadening my practical knowledge.”

For the second year in succession, Evolution was this year named Independent Firm of the Year at the prestigious North East Accountancy Awards.

The firm acts for a wide range of clients from sole traders to multinationals and offers a broad spectrum of services including personal tax returns and tax planning for high net-worth individuals.
