Elevator pitch workshop: making a great first impression

March 25th 2014

NEPIC’s Business Acceleration for SMEs programme (BASME) has launched the ‘Elevator Pitch Project Workshop: Create a Great First Impression’ to help SMEs on the BASME progamme* develop a compelling sales pitch for their company. Participants on the workshop will have access to specialist training from an expert sales coach, and online support materials to help them build an enticing sales pitch that can be used at networking events, direct sales situations or as promotional material (e.g. video for their website).

Benefits:
Build a confident, and concise, sales pitch that clearly communicates your sales message and that entices your potential buyers to want to find out more.

I’d Like to Develop an Enticing Sales Pitch for My Company:
The workshop will be repeated three times throughout the region (Redcar, Middlesbrough and Newcastle) to allow for as many BASME members as possible to attend. The workshops will be delivered by Richard Lane, Sales Expert and Coach, durhamlane.

To find out more about the workshops or to book your place, please select the location or date most convenient to you. NB. You must have joined the BASME programme to participate in the workshops.

In addition to the specialist training, we’re offering individual 1-2-1 sessions with Richard. These sessions will take place after the workshop, between 13:30-17:00, and last 30 minutes. They are ideal for attendees who are keen to gain additional expert advice, or have a query that they would rather speak about in confidence. There are only 6 of these sessions available and they operate on a first come, first serve basis. If you wish to participate in a 1-2-1 session please book your place in advance.

Online Support Material
To get the most from the workshop, you’ll need to come prepared with an outline of your sales pitch. To help you to prepare we’ve provided video examples that you can access on here and on BASNET (BASMEs intranet system).

Lift-Off Competition
Now that you’ve built your enticing sales pitch and recorded it, you’ve got a ready-made entry for the ‘LIFT-OFF’ competition - a sales pitch competition organised in conjunction with Tees Valley Unlimited and NEPIC’s BASME Programme.

To enter ‘LIFT-OFF’ you need to submit a short video of your enticing sales pitch. Entries will be assessed on their clarity and their ability to communicate their sales message and their unique selling point. Finalists with the strongest sales pitches will be invited to the Tees Valley Business Summit (TVBS) on 9th July 2014, where their video entries will be premiered to a large business audience - providing powerful promotional opportunities for the finalists. In addition, the finalists will gain valuable feedback from a panel of leading business figures and will be promoted by both TVU and NEPIC’s BASME programme.
