Expert Help for Microrenewables Installers

EXPERT help is on hand for small businesses in Middlesbrough to capitalise on a growing renewable sector.
Middlesbrough Council has joined forces with industry specialists Narec to offer support to electrical contractors, heating engineers and plumbing contractors to move into the microrenewable sector.
The one day workshop, on Wednesday, September 12 at the Middlesbrough Teaching and Learning Centre, is for small businesses based in Middlesbrough that wish to start operating in the low carbon and microrenewable installation sector.
Narec’s experts will give an introduction to some of the key technologies and provide an in-depth explanation of the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS). Sessions will also target electrical and heating contractors to further explore the skills, competencies and equipment required to successfully operate in this sector.
Some of the key technologies to be discussed will include solar PV, solar water heating, heat pumps and biomass boilers. Details of the Feed In Tariff (FIT) and Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) will also be covered.
At the end of the workshop, which is free, Narec’s experts will be available to carry out one-to-one training needs analyses and businesses may potentially be able to take advantage of further funded training through Narec.
