One lucky entrepreneur is being given the chance to base his or her business in one of Tees Valley’s flagship modern business centres free for a year.
UK Steel Enterprise, the Tata Steel subsidiary that supports businesses in steel areas with finance and premises, has joined up with the Hartlepool Mail to launch the competition Keys to Success.
The winner will be able to move straight into a 200 sq ft office in Hub Two at UKSE’s Innovation Centre on Hartlepool’s Queens Meadow Business Park. Spacious enough to accommodate three people it is already furnished with office desks, chairs and accessories and the lucky winner will pay no rent, rates, lighting or heating bills for 12 months.
In addition, all the facilities of the multi-million pound Centre from well equipped meeting rooms, one of the highest broadband speeds in the region at 100 Mbps, 24 hour access, high security, free parking, a manned reception area, air conditioning, a fitness centre and landscaped grounds will be on tap for the new tenant.
UK Steel Enterprise is a pioneer in the provision of managed business premises and its Innovation Centres at Hartlepool and Redcar are specifically designed to meet the needs of small and medium sized businesses. Hub Two’s green credentials include intelligent lighting, more than 180 solar heating panels, a water system that re-uses collected rainwater and a charger for electric vehicles.
Opened in 2011, Hub Two added 46 offices to the existing Centre’s workshops and offices. UKSE Centres now house around 80 of Tees Valley’s most exciting young businesses operating in sectors as varied as engineering, marketing, energy, IT, construction, printing, finance and photography.
Peter Taylor, Area Manager for UKSE, said: “We’re delighted to be working with the Hartlepool Mail on Keys to Success. We know there are people out there with great ideas for a new business or who are running a business that now needs bigger and better accommodation and they would benefit hugely from this opportunity.
“We want to help a business that we think has the most potential to grow and create jobs for the town and the region. Our rates are very competitive for the facilities we offer but, even so, this win will save a business thousands of pounds and give it a flying start.”
