As a training provider JD Training Solutions share a mutual ethos with Middlesbrough Community Learning: the spread of knowledge and practical skills to people in our community in order to better equip them for their careers or simply self-improvement. Our partnership allows us to provide three free courses to local people taught by JD Training: Three-Day Hospitality Training Course, Three-Day Paediatric First Aid, Safeguarding and Prevent Duty Training Course and the Three-Day Health and Social Care Taster Course. All you need is to live at a Middlesbrough address and be 19 or over.
We're bringing our high-quality training to you for free so they're easier to access than ever and will give you invaluable life-skills and possible opportunities at employment.
On the Health & Social Care Taster Course you will learn: what the role of a carer is and what makes good care; communication and safeguarding; overview of the needs of those with physical disabilities, dementia, learning disabilities and mental health; what is person centered care and an introduction to personal care tasks including catheter & stoma care infection control and medication awareness. Over the 3 days you will see what the job entails and which avenue is best for you. We even recommend successful candidates forward for employment opportunities.
On the Hospitality Training Course you will learn what is involved in the Hospitality industry and receive certificated qualifications in: Emergency First Aid, Customer Service, Disability Awareness, Food Hygiene, Health and Safety, Fire & COSHH as well as Manual Handling. Alternatively people can book for just the first day of the course to receive a qualification in Emergency First Aid.
On the Paediatric First Aid, Safeguarding and Prevent Duty Training Course is a rewarding course that covers the essential elements needed for the care and supervision of a child or multiple children. The qualification received is an OFSTED requirement in order to work with children.
If you're interested in either course then get in touch with us at (01642) 602600 or at info@jd-training.co.uk, or alternatively get in touch with Middlesbrough Community Learning at (01642) 811400 or at info@mcls.ac.uk or your Job Centre Work Coach.
