Jacksons Law Firm supports job creation in the region

Award winning law firm, Jacksons continues to grow as it recruits a number of new staff in its Stockton and Newcastle offices.

Jacksons Law Firm recently increased its staff numbers in both its legal and administration departments due to a surge in new instructions received from new and existing clients in the past few months.

The firm was delighted to receive Company of the Year Award at the Tees Businesswomen awards recently. The awards, now in its second year, have been set up to recognise and celebrate the achievements of exceptional women working in the Teesside area by Tees Business. Jacksons' Managing Partner, Jane Armitage was presented the award at a glamourous event in Wynyard Hall last month.

Solicitor, Joanne Coleman from Durham has joined the firm as Head of Residential Conveyancing. Joanne brings with her over 20 years experience of working in the legal sector. She studied for her first degree at Hull University, her second at Leeds Metropolitan University and completed her LPC course at Huddersfield University. Joanne manages Jacksons residential conveyancing team in Stockton and oversees all aspects of the conveyancing process.

Corporate and Commercial Solicitor David Artley, from Middlesbrough joins Partner, Tony Wentworth and his team following a seven-year stint at Arriva, working in its legal department. David studied law at Teesside University and qualified as a solicitor after completing the LPC course at BPP University in Leeds. David will focus on transactional work for Jacksons corporate and commercial clients.

Solicitor, Daniel Tumilty has been recruited to support Joanne Coleman and the team in the firms residential conveyancing department. He assists clients throughout the process when buying and selling homes. Daniel, from Hartlepool attended Northumbria University where he gained a masters in law incorporating the LPC course.

HR Manager, Zoe Tweddles appointment further enhances the firms professional support team. Zoe from County Durham brings with her over 10 years experience of HR management after completing a Chartered Institute of Personal Development qualification at Teesside University. Zoe's background is in the chemicals, manufacturing and engineering sectors where she gained experience of implementing and executing HR strategies, developing HR policies and procedures, whilst supporting all staff including the management board.

Paralegal Martha Rea is supporting head of new build, Isabelle Edmondson in the firms Newcastle office as the departments client base continues to grow.

Secretary Rosie Lewis joins the Newcastle office to support fee earners. Rosie has a background in the legal sector having worked for a boutique family law firm before working in recruitment.

Ellis Miller, Megan Galloway and Sam Maprangala are completing their business administration apprenticeships in the firms property departments and Sofie Kenworthy has started an apprenticeship assisting in reception and marketing duties.

Jacksons Law Firm continues to go from strength to strength and has seen its turnover increase by 12% and net profile by 57% in the last 12 months. The firm was recently appointed to the legal panel of 12 local authorities along with a number of other law firms based in the region and the UK. The announcement was made following a rigorous and competitive tendering process. In June this year the firms commercial property team won Commercial Property Team of the Year at The Northern Law Awards.
