Law firm becomes Corporate Partner

A commitment to its belief that no price can be put on protection has led to a regional law firm providing invaluable services to countless women and their families at a time of genuine need, for more than a decade.

In 2003 Tilly Bailey & Irvine Solicitors began to work with My Sisters Place, a charity offering a one stop shop for women who have experienced or are experiencing domestic violence.

Rebecca Samuels, an Associate Solicitor in Tilly Bailey & Irvines Stockton-based Family Law team, initially forged the relationship shortly after the charity launched.

In the 12 years since, she and her colleagues have helped numerous women who have turned to the Middlesbrough charity at their time of need, often providing their services free of charge. Tilly Bailey & Irvine Solicitors has now become My Sisters Places first Corporate Partner.

Rebecca Samuels said: "Our relationship with My Sisters Place has blossomed over the years as the charity has grown. We are determined to be here for any woman who turns to My Sisters Place for help.

"As a firm, we have committed to ensure these women receive the legal protection and advice they need, at the time when they need it. That may involve us dropping everything else to attend, and we often provide our services pro bono."

Tilly Bailey & Irvine Solicitors Family Law Team ensures the delivery of legal requirements on a day to day basis, and has also launched a drop in legal advice surgery at My Sisters Place each Thursday.

Michelle O Rourke, Service Development Manager from My Sisters Place, said: "My Sisters Place and Tilly Bailey & Irvine Solicitors have worked closely for a number of years in supporting women and children to live safe and free from abuse.

"Our charity values the relationship we have with the Family Law team who share our core philosophy of being accessible and responsive.

"The firm has a common understanding of the needs of women in abusive relationships and consistently go the extra mile. We are pleased to have them as our first Corporate Partner and would like to thank them for their support."

Rebecca added: "We are all proud to be able to support My Sisters Place. Over the years we have watched the charity blossom.

"Its staff and volunteers are passionate about what they do, and continuously work to broaden the services they provide, including new projects which aim to prevent domestic violence."
