Middlesbrough College student lands prestigious apprenticeship

Fin Duffy, a recent graduate of Middlesbrough College´s T-Level Digital Production Design & Development, has secured a highly sought-after Level 4 apprenticeship with Applied Integration, a prominent player in the robotics and software industry.

This achievement underscores the success of T Levels in equipping young people with the in-demand skills and real-world experience needed to thrive in today´s competitive job market.

Fin´s journey at Middlesbrough College is a testament to the transformative power of education and the dedication of skilled educators.

Commenting on his success, Fin Duffy said: “The work placement aspect of the T Level course was invaluable. It gave me real-world experience that I couldn´t have gained in the classroom alone and helped me secure this amazing apprenticeship.”

Designed in collaboration with employers, T Levels provide students with the practical skills and industry knowledge they need to succeed in their chosen careers.
The 45-day work placement embedded within each T Level programme offers students the opportunity to apply their learning in a real-world setting and build valuable industry connections.

Despite facing challenges earlier in his academic career, Fin persevered with the support of his outstanding tutors. He successfully achieved GCSEs in Maths and English and developed a strong foundation in Computer Science, ultimately leading to his impressive career success.
“I fully recommend studying the T-Level Digital Production Design & Development,” added Fin. “It provides a fantastic foundation for those looking for a career in software development.”

Middlesbrough College Tutor, Samantha Smethurst, said: “Through his unwavering commitment to excellence, Fin overcame the challenges of exams in the T-Level Digital Production Design & Development programme. Despite the hurdles, his exceptional performance in industry-focused Occupational Specialism assessments highlighted his remarkable programming talent and true potential.

“His dedication not only redefined his academic journey but also laid a strong foundation for a promising future in the technology sector.”
Fin´s story highlights the significant benefits of T Levels in preparing young people for successful careers in today´s rapidly evolving job market.
