Headed up by experienced close protection and security expert Derek Laird, NLSS is a specialist security firm committed to transforming the perception of the industry.

Founder Derek has applied his military experience to his role of managing director and has created an offer that has gained national and international recognition. The organisation isn’t a run of the mill security firm, they don’t do door work, bars or clubs but instead applies a military standard professionalism to provide intelligence and assist in strategic planning for some high level clients.

NLSS has a specialism in the oil and gas industry although they do support clients from various sectors, many of which are media sensitive. Derek explains: “Our standard operating procedures drill down into the detail and are based on military planning techniques. No plan is ever fixed, we will constantly review and continually update so as to provide the most effective solution at any one time.”

NLSS has offices in Scotland as well as Teesside and office manager Rosie Mills explained why joining the Tees Valley Business Club was a key step for the business. “Our head office is in Stockton-on-Tees, although we operate all over the world, the Tees Valley is the home of the organisation. The business club is well known to us and our clients and was an obvious choice for us when planning our networking activity.”
