New member Roseberry Community Consortium

Roseberry Community Consortium is a registered charity based in Stockton-on-Tees.

 

The charity was set up to provide education, support and outreach activities to disadvantaged groups of young people across the Tees Valley region. Focusing on music, singing and dancing, keeping fit, neurodiversity, anti-bullying techniques, martial arts and revision classes for the school curriculum.

 

The charity’s vision is to make a positive difference to the lives of young people in Teesside by building a better future, so that they can achieve their optimum potential and show strong confidence and self-belief in themselves.

Roseberry Community Consortium delivers multiple projects including the provision of recreational and leisure time activities provided in the interest of social welfare. The activities and sessions are free of charge. The charity has over 150 young 
people and children every month joining their activities and sessions, these include the following:

·      Starmakerz: Free music workshops in dancing, singing, learning musical 
instruments and music tuition aimed at disadvantaged children and young 
people aged 4 to 18 years old every Saturday, 12pm to 2pm

·      Starmakerz Music Collective:  Celebrating neurodiversity and diversity 
through a weekly choir every Monday, 6pm to 7pm

·      Self -defence classes: Teaching anti bullying techniques through 
martial art for young people, running every Saturday, 10am to 12pm

·      Neuro Network: Arranging activities for children and young people with 
neurodiverse conditions every Saturday, 2pm to 4pm

·      Revise2revise: Offer support to children and young people who struggle 
in school, every Monday 4pm to 5pm

·      Little Stars: Parents and toddler group every Tuesday and Thursday, 
9.30am to 11.30am

·      HAF: A holiday and food program for those aged up to 16 years over the 
holidays

 

Speaking about why Roseberry Community joined the club, Pritthijit Datta, said:
“We joined Tees Valley Business Club to spread the positivity of what our charity does for disadvantaged groups of children and young people across the Teesside region. We are always looking for young people and children who would benefit from our projects to join.

“I want to help local businesses to grow by sharing my expertise and relevant contacts that would be valuable supporting local businesses. For me personally, I am neurodiverse. This has brought many challenges in my life during my educational and work life. I want to meet new people so that I can feel more confident and improve my social skills.”
