Surge is a full-service digital agency based in Teesside. Founded in 2014 it has grown into a team of specialists covering three core areas: creative, development and digital marketing. The agency helps businesses solve problems and grow through the right digital solution.
The creative team covers branding, graphic design, photography, video and content. Their development team builds everything from websites and ecommerce platforms through to bespoke software and mobile applications. The marketing team delivers SEO, Google Ads, paid and organic social media and wider content strategies.
Having all of those skills under one roof means they aren´t tied to selling one particular service. They start by understanding what a business is trying to achieve, identify the problems or opportunities, and then recommend the right solution.
The team at Surge put a huge emphasis on communication, accountability and building long-term relationships. Ultimately, they want to become an extension of their clients´ teams rather than simply another supplier.
David Porter, director of Surge said: “Some of our strongest relationships have come from getting out there, meeting people and getting to know their businesses. For us, joining the Club is about building more of those relationships, sharing knowledge and seeing where we can collaborate and support one another.”
One of the biggest areas of growth for Surge is bespoke software development. They are increasingly working with businesses that have inefficient processes, disconnected systems or rely heavily on spreadsheets and manual administration, and helping them solve those problems through custom software and digitalisation.
Rather than forcing businesses into an off-the-shelf system, their development team can build around the way the business actually operates, integrate with existing systems and create something that can evolve with them.
They are also continuing to grow their website and digital marketing offering, particularly SEO, where the focus is increasingly on creating genuinely useful content that answers the questions customers are actually searching for.
David added: “It´s an exciting period for the business, and we´re looking forward to meeting more Tees Valley businesses through the club and seeing where those conversations lead.”
