Trauma Stop UK CIC is a cognitive behavioural therapy service operating throughout the North East of England, including the Tees Valley, providing services to those who have suffered from trauma and abuse.

Trauma Stop is a not-for-profit organisation lead by Paula Maddison Green, an accredited trainer in Mental Health Awareness and facilitator of both the Freedom Programme and a new male victim initiative, named the Life Back Programme. Paula also runs North East Women and Men Against Domestic Violence, whilst mentoring both men and women that have, or are, experiencing domestic abuse.

With an aim to change the model of trauma and abuse resources, Paula offers services across all channels including online training via Zoom, educational work within local schools, telephone and text services. She will soon be offering socially distanced one-to-one therapy sessions from her log cabin and polytunnel – which offers individuals a safe environment to discuss their difficulties in a unique way, through therapeutic gardening.

With the arrival of the Covid-19 pandemic, Paula offers a unique CBT Therapies service, completely independent from IAPT Services; aimed at burned out professionals who may not feel comfortable engaging with other conventional resources.

Born and grown-up within the Tees Valley, Paula wants to give back to the local community and has joined Tees Valley Business Club as a way to connect with local SMEs whilst gaining pockets of expertise from other members. Paula believes the club will be beneficial in helping her collaborate with other regional businesses in the future.
