Doing business in the oil & gas sector: Russia
4th March
NOF Energy offices, Durham, commencing at 09.30 for registration
Closing with buffet lunch (and networking)
NOF Energy is hosting a market briefing focusing on Russia for companies interested to find out more about the oil & gas sector in this market. This informative event is designed to help you understand how to access the market and identify the best route to entry.
Why Russia?
*The Russian heavy industry is in high need for up-to-date manufacturing equipment. Approximately 70% of the existing capital assets are outdated. Annual market demand for new metal-machining equipment is over 50,000 units or $1 to $1.5 billion. However, the domestic machine tool manufacturers meet less than 1% of the internal need, so the market has to rely on the imported equipment (manufacturing technologies, spare parts, and components for manufacturing and assembly). This is true for a number of engineering sub-sectors - Aerospace, Automotive, Shipbuilding, Transport, Power Engineering.
Currently Russia is importing more than a third of its oil and gas equipment. There is a growing demand for expertise and technologies for extraction of hard to recover and offshore reserves.
Speaker:
Olga Makarchuk, Team Leader for the Advanced Engineering & Transport Team. Sectors covered by the team include Advanced Engineering; Aerospace, Manufacturing Technologies, Marine Engineering, Shipbuilding; Ports and Railways.
Additional areas of discussion:
· Bribery, Corruption and Protecting Intellectual Property
· Successfully getting products to market
· Language and culture
· Certification
