The Teesside Charity has £25,000 to giveaway to local causes

The Teesside Charity´s Golden Giveaway is back for 2026 - with a massive £25,000 waiting to be divided between 20 worthy Tees Valley-based charities, not-for-profit organisations, community groups and schools.

The Teesside Charity is a registered charity dedicated to financially supporting community groups and charities based within Teesside and Darlington. For 14 years, The Teesside Charity has provided a lifeline for young people, families, community groups, the homeless, those recovering from an addiction, the long-term unemployed, those living in poverty or living with a disability.

The Golden Giveaway is a yearly event that sees a panel of the charity’s patrons select 20 worthy groups from across the region who have applied to the Golden Giveaway, each of which will receive at least £500.

Each good cause is featured on the charity´s website, and the public is asked to vote for the one they believe most deserves the biggest share of the money.

Topping the vote will bring in £5,000, second place scoops £2,500, third will receive £2,000, and fourth place receives £1,750, while the remainder will walk away with either £1,500, £1,000, £750 or £500.

The money will be handed over to organisation representatives at the home of Middlesbrough Football Club – the Riverside Stadium – on Wednesday 1 July 2026.

Voting for the Golden Giveaway opens on Wednesday 10 June 2026.

The application process is simple. Organisations apply online and explain what their next project is and how the funding will have an impact. It really is a simple process but with a huge reward.

Applications ARE NOW OPEN and close on Friday 8 May 2026.
