December 1st 2016
Waltons Clark Whitehill are pleased to welcome Theresa Carling, Associate Solicitor at Tilly Bailey & Irvine Law Firm and expert in employment law to Maritime House on 1 December 2016.
With national employers including UBER, Hermes and Deliveroo hitting the headlines as they defend damaging tribunal claims, many businesses are looking closely at whether they have employees, workers or genuinely self-employed individuals within their organisations.
The issue of 'Employment Status' has always been a contentious one and often arises out of a PAYE Compliance Review visit by HMRC, which can be enough to make businesses break out in a cold sweat.
Theresa, along with George Hardey, our tax expert, will consider the legal and taxation impacts and George will provide an insight into the main pitfalls to avoid when it comes to PAYE Reviews, as well as tips on how to survive a dreaded visit.
If you are an employer or regularly pay workers, please come along so that you can be as well informed as possible when it comes to knowing who you are working with, and whether you could be open to challenge.
