K2 Construction Management is an innovative project, cost and construction management consultancy with over 20 years’ experience. The leading construction management company has shown its commitment to the Tees Valley by opening a new strategic headquarters in Middlesbrough. Originally based in London K2CM made the decision to expand to the Tees Valley following a contract win to deliver South Korean firm SeAH Wind’s £450 monopile manufacturing facility at Teesworks, the UK’s first operational freeport in north east England.

 

K2CM’s mission is geared to grow a strong locally resourced team and create a real legacy within the regions it works. K2CM has been able to rapidly contract architectural, logistical, and engineering partners to mobilise activity on site enabling cost-led design to fully maximise the client’s expectations. In less than 12 months K2CM has employed more than 45 people with a further 400 people currently working through their local supply chain on site at Teesworks.

 

James Grant, senior marketing and communications manager said: “We’ve gone and recruited several senior local leaders to deliver this project and hopefully, knowing the potential pipeline of investment that’s coming to this region, will have the opportunity to win even more.” 

 

More than a billion pounds worth of construction projects have been developed and delivered by K2CM, ranging from the mammoth to the compact. These include the £500m regeneration of Hale Village in London, a £10m scheme to transform Nile House in Brighton and extensive student accommodation blocks across the north, such as Artisan Heights Manchester, in partnership with Unite.

 

James commented: “The reason for joining Tees Valley Business Club, is that myself and our head of project management David Gardner, have worked within the region for years and have been members within our previous roles and always been heavily involved with the club’s endeavours.
